Spalding Primary School
Learning Together, Succeeding Together
We are delighted to have all children back in school following the recent lockdown. The children have quickly settled back into school life and routines and have completed some amazing work.
Thank you to parents/carers for the fantastic job you have all done whilst your child has either been at home with you, or has been attending school as a critical worker. You have all done an amazing job assisting your child with their home learning and in many cases having to work yourselves. It is good to be able to get back to some kind of ‘normality’.
Please continue to socially distance when waiting outside of school and on the playground. If you need to visit the office, and there is already someone in the entrance area, please wait outside until that person leaves. We apologise for any delay, but we are trying our best to keep everyone safe.
Comic Relief – Red Nose Day – Friday 19th March 2021
Don’t forget to come to school on Friday 19th March dressed as a keyworker to raise money for this fantastic cause. If you wish to make a donation, buckets will be available at your child’s classroom door on Friday. Please see the letter which was sent to you on 9th March with more information.
World Book Day – we hope that the children enjoyed taking part in ‘The Masked Reader’ challenge last week. Did you guess who was behind the mask? All children received a £1 book token on Monday. Don’t forget to use this by 28th March.
School shoes
We are aware that many children have grown out of their school shoes during the lockdown period. We are also very aware that it is only a couple of weeks until the Easter holiday so if your child needs new shoes, but you wanted to wait until the holiday to purchase new ones, we are happy for your child to come to school in non-uniform shoes, as long as they are sensible shoes and hold your child’s foot safely. Please avoid ‘party’ style shoes. Thank you.
Covid-19 test results - If your child needs to have a Covid-19 test, and you receive the results outside of normal school hours or at a weekend, please contact us by email on covidupdatesps@spalding-pri.lincs.sch.uk This email address is monitored out of normal hours and at weekends, so we would be able to put any special arrangements in place and give you information as early as possible if a positive test result was to be received.
Is your child eligible for Pupil Premium Funding? This funding is available for children whose parents are in receipt of certain benefits. It entitles your child to free meals during KS2, free milk, 50% discount on school trips (including residential trips), discounted music tuition, additional teaching support, and help with purchasing uniform and equipment. If you think your child might be eligible, or if you would like further information, please call into the school office in confidence.
School Transport If your child is starting primary school or transferring to secondary school in September 2021 they may be eligible for school transport. If you think your child is eligible please apply for transport as soon as you have your offer of a school place.
